Pursuant to my earlier post today, I’m pleased to announce that we’ve just wrapped up a brand new dialer series that lets you switch vpn accounts instantaneously between our 18 core countries. This comes as a zero configuration dialer and you can be online and connected to a vpn network within seconds after the initial installation. Supporting both 32 and 64 bit systems, and providing for PPTP and L2TP/IPSec connections, you have enough choices here to keep you satisfied for a long time to come. Please be advised that we are re-creating the VPN Combo Packs section of our store area to including an updating on pricing (a bit lower ) and to include a multi-country single install dialer that only requires one user name and password. This means you will be able to install a single dialer and be able to pick and choose which countries you choose to vpn into. These dialers will be offered in PPTP & L2TP/IPSec (AES 128 & 256 bit encryption). Packages made available in our store area will reflect the most commonly ordered countries and other combinations that we feel will be of most use to our clients.

We are also working on a dialer series for our British TV clients that will include a 3-server dialer. This means each British TV subscriber will have access to 3 independent British servers. We’ve been beefing up security dramatically around here and have come into standards-enhanced PCI Compliance through the standards set forth by the PCI Security Standards Council.

What is PCI?

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of requirements designed to ensure that ALL companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.

The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) was launched on September 7, 2006 to manage the ongoing evolution of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) security standards with focus on improving payment account security throughout the transaction process. The PCI DSS is administered and managed by the PCI SSC (www.pcisecuritystandards.org), an independent body that was created by the major payment card brands (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB).

Its been brought to my attention that I need to further clarify some of the vpn security settings. For those of you that currently use PPTP or L2TP/IPSec settings and have a manual setup configured on your computer, can toggle between PPTP or L2TP/IPSec at your convenience any time you’d like. See the illustrated example below:

Right below that selector, you can also choose what strength of security works best for you and your computer. This is a handy feature to know about if a particular vpn protocol is working poorly for you or you just want to know what the alternative options are.
