***Email Virus Epidemic***

Hi Folks,
There is a trend we’re seeing here thats happening on an almost daily basis. More and more of you are getting infected with a virus that sends out Chinese spam email and sends this to every email address in your contact lists or whatever email addresses it can find. This is a high security risk for IAPS Networks and offenders will be immediately suspended from our networks the moment we receive these spam emails and will not be re-allowed on our networks until they have dealt with the problem and presented us with a valid screen shot showing us a clean virus report *and* showing us which virus(es) their scanner detected and removed.
Folks, the security of our networks is the # 1 priority and we will not tolerate insecure computers connecting to our networks. Sending out spam emails is expressly against our terms of service and immediate grounds for termination of service. We know that some of you get infected and are not aware of it, but there is simply no excuse that you can use for not having a firewall, a virus scanner, and a malware scanner on your computer. Simply saying “I’m not technically inclined” or “I don’t know enough about computers” or “I use an online scanner every so often” will not be good enough. It is every one’s responsibility to secure their own computer against malicious software and viruses. For those of you that use torrent sites, the pirate bay, or bit torrent, I have no sympathy for you as you’ve expressly invited those viruses in.
What we recommend:
Eset Smart Security 4 as this is what we use to protect our computers.
Whats most important is that you watch what links you click on, which websites you are visiting, what emails you open, and NEVER click on a link sent to you over an instant messenger even if it looks like it came from a friend. These virus writers design their viruses to trick you for a reason. Simply put, be careful what you click on no matter where you are on the internet. We will not accept excuses for blatantly unprotected computers as they put the IAPS Networks at risk for all clients.
